Apricot Brandy Perun

    0,7 l, 40% alc. Apricot brandy, colorless and crystal clear with very pleasant fruity fragrance and aroma. Ripe apricot is harvested, smashed and left to ferment for a couple weeks. It is distilled in traditional way. After that it must be aged in oak for two years.   When it took a little brandy in the mouth, the impression is like you are eating ripe apricot.   Placed in northern Serbian Vojvodina province, Perun Distillery gathers young and enthusiastic team of experienced craftmakers of fruit brandy. Distillation is controlled in automated system of digitalized pots that measure the numerous parameters of distilled brandy until the desired values. That way the brandy always has the same taste. Aging is performed in French oak barrels for at least three years; colourless brandy is aged in stainless steel pots. Dried apricots have more concentrated aroma and fragrance than the fresh ones. When such a brand is distilled it's fragrance reveal the fruit that it was made of, even if you are not aware of the ingredients.  
Really more emphasized aroma of ripe or dried apricots, I don't know the difference. But it is apricot. You can feel it with your eyes shut. A mild, fruity and pleasant brandy. But it is a brandy, not a liqueur.   The household of the Orthodox priest Ljubomir Volarevic is situated in Sremska Mitrovica, north-west of Serbia, nearby the ancient Roman capital of Sirmium. Although being a local parish priest, father Ljubomir did not want the wineyards and orchards that he inherited from his grandfather to be neglected. So he started to produce wine and distill brandy just for his parishioners. Nowadays his winery and distillery employ all his family members, and the orchards are certainly renewed and improved.
