Orthodox monks of Kovilj monastery named the cognac Ison, after the back voice during the unanimous monastery chanting. It is mouthfull, buttery, of sweet ending, but strong and of solid character. After being mildly warmed by hand, it opens the palette of various aromas: vanilla-chocolate, caramelized south fruits and citrus, with balance and unrepeatable beauty. Monastery of Kovilj is situated in northern Serbian province Vojvodina, nearby Novi Sad. It was founded by Saint Sava in the early 13th century. Saint Sava was a prince and the first archbishop of Serbian Orthodox Church. The Monastery was built on the spot where Saint Sava healed the son of the Hungarian King Andrew II.
